(1) Advanced design in construction that allows the Garrett Infinium LS metal detector to be fully submersed in water (waterproof). The equivalent Pulse Induction Prospecting metal detectors in a different brand, the search coil is not waterproof and cannot be submersed in water.

(2) The Advanced design in construction allows the Garrett Infinium LS to be taken to depths of 60 metres (200 feet) in water. No other prospecting detector in the world has this capability.

(3) Due to the advanced construction, the Garrett Infinium LS comes standard with 4 mounting configurations, which includes hip mounting of the control box. The other brand of pulse induction prospecting metal detectors are only shaft mounted under the arm rest and hip mounting option is not given.

(4) Advanced circuit design allows the Infinium LS to obtain similar depths as other prospecting pulse induction metal detectors, but only requires 8 x AA Nimh batteries which gives approximately 12 hours operation per charge. The other brand of pulse induction prospecting metal detectors require a 6volt, 10 Amp Gel Cell battery to run for approximately 10 hours and this weighs 2 kg. The Infinium LS has low power consumption.

(5) The advanced circuitry of the Infinium LS gives two types of Discrimination that both work generally to the depth of the detected target depth. The other brand of pulse induction prospecting metal detectors either don’t have discrimination or only have surface elimination.

(6) Due to the Infinium LS construction and circuit design, it makes it an true All Terrain Unit and it is equally at home in the goldfields as well as beach hunting and diving in the ocean to depths of 60 metres. No other detector in the world has these capabilities due to it’s advanced design.
